PUBS and cafes were overflowing with visitors after a Worcestershire town hosted its first-ever Bike Night.

Hundreds of bikers cruised into Droitwich as visitors flocked to the salt town for the first time to enjoy a special motorbike-themed event.

One biker, Rob Robinson, said the small Worcestershire town was never on his radar, but he loved finally visiting the area.

"It brings many people in, and there were many bikes, so there was plenty to see.

The event was initially postponed in August after a short hiatus to allow time for arranging finer details.

Up to 200 motorcyclists rode into Droitwich High Street from 5pm to 9pm and parked their vehicles.

"The weather was great and it was a terrific evening. 

"It was terrific to see Droitwich pubs, coffee bars and food establishments being used so fully; here to the next one!

A spokesperson for Wychavon District Council said the event was amazing.

It added: "Last night, under a glorious sunset, around 200 motorcyclists revved their engines and cruised onto the High Street, joined by hundreds of enthusiastic locals and visitors.

"The turnout confirmed a huge appetite for more events like this in our lovely town.
