A SOLAR farm capable of powering 12,000 homes could be built next to the M5.
The 40MW solar farm would be positioned near to existing panels in fields near Strensham.
Access to the site would be from the A4104, which runs along its northern boundary, and the A4101, which runs east from Baughton.
The panels themselves would be mounted on metal frames and would be three metres high.
According to plans submitted to both Malvern Hills and Wychavon district councils: “A number of buildings and further ancillary infrastructure will be required to house the solar inverters, transformers and communications equipment.
“The existing 66kV substation at Strensham Solar Farm will be used to supply the energy generated by the proposals.”
