A MAN and woman were taken to hospital after a crash led to heavy delays for commuters trying to get between Malvern and Worcester.
The crash led to hour-long delays through Bastonford as emergency services rushed to the scene yesterday morning ( October 15).
The incident involved a van and a car and resulted in two people being taken to hospital as well as the A449 being partially blocked.
Traffic woes were further worsened by Seven Trent roadworks in Powick.
A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called at 8.45am to a road traffic collision involving a car and a van in Bastonford in Powick.
"Two ambulances and a passing-by Patient Transport Service (PTS) crew attended the scene.
"Upon arrival we found a man and a woman who were assessed by ambulance staff and conveyed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment.”
Police were called to the scene but made no arrests.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We were called to a two-vehicle collision on the A449 at Bastonford at around 8.55am this morning (Tuesday October 15).
"Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
"No arrests have been made."
