HALLOWEEN activities and autumn trails are among the activities to enjoy this half-term at National Trust properties in Worcestershire.
National Trust properties including Greyfriars in Worcester and Hanbury Hall, near Droitwich are playing host to a series of half-term Halloween activities across Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
Activities include pumpkin displays, creepy crafts, spooky story-telling sessions and Halloween trails.
Worcestershire
Hanbury Hall
Learn all about creepy critters in a Zoolab Animal Show which gives visitors the chance to get up close with snakes, rats, giant snails, tarantulas and more on October 29, 30 and 31.
Pre-book tickets via the website. Visit the craft area in the Long Gallery and make your own paper lantern inspired by folklore and festivals on October 26, 27 and 28 October and on November 1, 2 and 3.
It costs £2 per lantern. A family trail booklet can be picked up in the visitor reception for £2. The trail involves finding all the fairy lanterns and ingredients to make a potion.
Greyfriars House & Garden
Visitors are invited to visit the the autumn garden and look out for the Robinia tree 'which glows gold with foliage of deep reds, vibrant oranges and golden browns'.
Visitors can join a tour of the house to discover 500 years of history, and browse the second-hand bookshop at No.14 across the street or visit the Old Oak Café.
Herefordshire
Berrington Hall
Visitors can solve the mystery of 'the Head Gardener's demise' on Berrington Hall’s half term trail between October 26 and November 3, 10am until 4.30pm. A potion making workshop using herbs from the walled garden takes place on Thursday, October 31 between 11am and 3pm.
Brockhampton Estate
Visitors can explore autumn colour in the orchards and follow the 'mysterious missing pumpkins children’s trail' between October 26 and November 3, 10am until 4.30pm. There are mini ghosts in every room as part of Hallowtide celebrations in the manor house between October 26 and November 3. You can also cast your vote in the pumpkin carving display between October 30 and November 3, 11am to 5pm daily.

Croft Castle and Parkland
The property has a 'spooky adventure' with the Paranormal Investigator Trail where visitors can look for friendly ghosts at 'the most haunted castle in the midlands'. The trail runs between Saturday, October 26 and November 3 (11am to 4.30pm). There is a broomstick agility between the same dates.
The Weir Garden
A children’s half term trail takes place between Saturday, October 26 and November 3, between 10.30am until 4pm This October half term, families can explore the garden with a fun children’s trail, complete with a prize.
