A care centre has secured a £360,000 lottery grant to ensure its future.
The Myriad Centre, a day centre supporting adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), has been awarded the Reaching Communities Lottery grant, which will be distributed over the next three years.
The funding will allow the centre to launch a new sustainability project aimed at maintaining its level of care.

The centre has been struggling to cover the gap between the funding it receives and the resources required to uphold its Gold Standard of care, resorting to continuous fundraising efforts.
The grant will enable the centre to research the future needs of the next generation of adults with PMLD, ensuring its services can evolve accordingly.
It will also help cover the centre’s running costs over the next three years, easing the financial pressure and allowing the centre to explore new, sustainable income streams.
Despite the grant, the centre will still need to raise an additional £60,000 annually to support its activity and therapy programmes and to expand its services.
However, the grant positions the centre to plan strategically for the long term, rather than constantly seeking immediate financial support.
