FOUR swans have been rescued after being caught in the same fishing line.
The birds were all found by volunteers in Worcester's Swan Sanctuary on Thursday (October 10).
One of the swans had previously been rescued from a fishing hook by the same volunteers from The Swan Food Project.
The group is asking the public to be vigilant and to report any abandoned line on the river banks.
A spokesperson for The Swan Food Project said: "More fishing woes.
"Remember when a fish hook was removed from her leg recently at a little beach on Pitchcroft?
"At that time we retrieved a long length of fishing line (13 ft, about 4m) from the bushes nearby.
"Yesterday (October 10) the very same swan was one of four caught up (and freed) from a very long length of line at the boathouse steps by the cricket ground.
"This time she had a big hook and fishing lure in her wing.
"There is someone about who is very careless.
"If you walk along the river, please would you look out for abandoned line and send us photos of anyone fishing within the sanctuary (between the cathedral and the railway viaduct)."
