Sofia Gunster, events and community fundraising lead at the hospice, said: "We can't wait to see everyone in their most ghoulish get-up ready to run for hospice care.

"Everyone who completes the race will be rewarded with a medal and well-deserved Halloween treat.

"Not only will it be a fun way to celebrate Halloween in style, this event raises vital funds for our care as runners gain sponsorship from their friends and families for their efforts.

"We hope to see you there."

The route will start at Norton Parish Hall and take runners on a road race through the village and surrounding area.

Prizes will be awarded to the race winners and for the creepiest running outfit.

Brian Simpson, operations director at event sponsor Marshalls Transport (Evesham) Ltd, said: "Marshalls Transport (Evesham) Ltd are honoured to be sponsors of this spectacular Spooky Sprint charity event.

"We wish all those participating a scream of a time."

To book tickets, visit the hospice's website or call the hospice’s fundraising team on 01905 958262.

The Spooky Sprint is supported by Pulse Events and ARF Highway Services.

The hospice is an independent charity that provides free, expert care for adults with an incurable illness, as well as support for their loved ones and carers.

Each year, the hospice team assists more than 3,100 patients, family members, and bereaved individuals in Worcestershire.

The cost to run the hospice this year will be in the region of £12 million, which includes patient care and all necessary support services.

St Richard's relies on voluntary support for the majority of its income, with funding from donations, gifts in wills, retail, and events, with the remainder funded by the NHS.
