A FAMOUS comedian has revealed why he did not do his pre-show tradition in Worcester.
The Irish comedy legend Ed Byrne performed on the Huntingdon Hall stage on Friday (October 11) but unfortunately was forced to miss out on having his ritual pint at a city pub.
The star, who has hosted Live at the Apollo and appeared on QI and Mock the Week, has a tradition of picking a pub to have a pint in before every show.
He then posts a picture at the pub on his social media.
But he had missed out on the tradition in Worcester after sharing on Instagram that he has been feeling unwell.
The comedian said: "Been feeling a bit under the weather for a couple of days so had to knock the #preshowpint on the head."
Ed Byrne returned to the city with Tragedy Plus Time in which he tests Mark Twain's infamous formula of humour by reminiscing on the most tragic event in his life for laughs.
The show has received critical acclaim and was the best-reviewed stand-up show at Edinburgh 2023 according to the British Comedy Guide.
Despite the short break in the tradition, Ed posted a picture of himself back in the usual routine last night before his Oxford show.
He has previously enjoyed a pint at The Firefly and TripleB in Worcester.
