A NURSERY where "staff help children flourish in their unique way" has received a new Ofsted rating.

Lilliput Farm Nursery in Dunhampton is delighted and proud to have been named an "outstanding nursery".

Ofsted praised the school's children for being "polite, exceptionally well behaved and kind towards others" and "loving to learn".

The report said: "Staff support children to be the best they can be, with each child's talent fostered.

"This helps children to take pride in who they are.

"Staff teach children about their place in the wider world. Children learn about the skills and talents of able-bodied and disabled athletes.

"They know that everyone can achieve great accomplishments and are inspired by athlete's achievements,

"Children also learn about children who live in other parts of the world, such as Yemen.

"Staff teach children how their lives are different and similar to those of others. Children show high levels of respect and tolerance towards others.

"This helps to prepare them for life in modern Britain."

Lilliput Farm Nursery was also given nothing to improve on by the inspectors.

A spokesperson for the nursery said they are delighted with the outcome.

"Especially as each and every member of staff contributed collectively - and in their own personal way, to the result," they said.

"We were inspected by a very experienced and knowledgeable inspector who - although very thorough and professional during his investigation, made staff, parents and children feel at ease.

"A welcome change from previous inspections."

Lilliput Farm Nursery first opened in 1993 and still has many staff members who stood by them at the opening.

A lot of its staff has been with them for over 30 years.

"During this time, we have seen and experienced the changes in child education, pedagogy, and methods, as well as the different expectations put on children and parents nowadays," said the school.

"However, we have never changed our belief that our most important role is to ensure that all our children leave us confident, with a strong sense of self-worth and self-belief so that they can be best prepared for school and life.

"We are so pleased that our report reflects and confirms that ambition."
