FIREFIGHTERS have rushed to a Worcestershire river after reports of a man threatening to jump. 

Two boats and a fire engine went to the river at Pershore along with police officers. 

No boats entered the water as the man was located by police.

A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "One crew from Pershore and two boat crews - one from Worcester and one from Evesham were called to Meadow Walk in Pershore at 4.20pm to reports of a man threatening to jump. 

"Crews did not have to enter the water and the man was found. 

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to a concern for welfare in Pershore this afternoon but I can confirm the man has been located."

West Midlands Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.

It happened on Thursday, October 10.
