A NEW gym is set to open in Droitwich town centre next month at the former home of Argos and Carphone Warehouse.
PureGym, a national chain of gyms open 24 hours a day, is set to open across two ground floor units in Saint Andrews Square.
A spokesperson for PureGym said: "We are delighted to be bringing flexible, affordable fitness to Droitwich Spa on Friday, November 29.
"The brand new 5,000 square foot gym will be located in Saint Andrews Square, just by Morrisons, and will provide members with 24/7 access to state-of-the-art fitness facilities through our flagship low-cost, zero-contract memberships.
"We look forward to welcoming members through the doors of PureGym Droitwich Spa – look out for our opening offer."
Worcestershire county councillor Richard Morris, who represents Droitwich West, said: "I'd always rather see premises in the town centre occupied rather than empty, so this is good news.
"Having a balance of local and well-known gyms in the town is good for competition too, so I welcome them.
"Obviously, any empty premises doesn't give the right look for the town - we want it to be a vibrant centre for Droitwich that attracts people."
