The character, who reached the semi-finals of the ITV talent show in 2019, has supported comedians Johnny Vegas and Peter Kay on tour and is a well-known headline act in her own right.

Her husband, however, remains oblivious to her growing comedy career, believing she spends her time at bingo or dog sitting.

Beyond her comedy performances, Connolly has a rich TV career, including playing Holy Mary in Phoenix Nights, featuring in Coronation Street, and appearing in Man Like Mobeen.

Her radio sitcom, Barbara Nice, was a BBC Radio 2 comedy commission.

She has also performed in live theatre productions Tartuffe and Anita and Me at Birmingham Rep, as well as Panto with Lily Savage in Manchester and Bristol.

In 2024, she was awarded the North West Comedy Awards Legend Award.

Tickets are priced at £15 and are available for purchase from the Number 8 Box Office by calling 01386 555488 or online at number8.org.

The performance starts at 7.30p on Friday, November 15.
