STUNNING pictures of the night sky over Worcester show breathtaking colour formations.
Residents were again wowed by the Northern Lights last night (Monday) after an aurora borealis was spotted over the city.
It marked one of many occasions where stargazers across Worcestershire were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the formation in 2024.
Residents had snapped pictures of an incredible pink hue in the sky at 1.19am in Rushwick.
The Met Office Space Weather forecast predicted the most likely time to see the weather phenomenon was Saturday night.
However, residents in Worcester got their chance early this morning.
What are the Northern Lights?
The Northern Lights are caused by charged particles from the sun hitting gases in the Earth's atmosphere.
The colours occur due to different gases in the Earth's atmosphere being energised by the charged particles.
Nitrogen and oxygen are the two most common gases in the atmosphere, with nitrogen emitting purple, blue and pink colours and oxygen emitting green.
