FAMILIES dismissed the gloomy weather forecast to explore a village scarecrow trail.
Feckenham Scarecrow Weekend attracted families of all ages to Feckenham as over 30 weird and wonderful scarecrows were on displayed across the village.
Festivities centred on Feckenham's village green, otherwise known as The Square, which had a tea tent, barbecue food, and stalls, while Feckenham Artisans displayed their creations in the village hall.
Susan Baker, from Redditch, said: "It's a really enjoyable event to bring the children to - it's nice to attend something that's community-based.
"I have come on both days, but the weather today doesn't matter - people want to get out of the house."
The event was bathed in sunshine during the opening day on Saturday (October 5), but still attracted lots of interest on a rain-hit Sunday (October 6).

Alan Smith, who is part of the village square committee and was working the barbecue, said: "We had a brilliant day yesterday - I think we sold out of stock twice!
"I must have seen hundreds of people on Saturday, though we may have a quieter day today because of the weather.
"I'm not sure how much we have raised yet, but it's looking good."
While the trail is free, money raised from the barbecue and tea tent help maintain Feckenham's village green.
Danielle Walpole, whose children attend school in Feckenham, said: "We heard about this through the school, and it's nice to just support the village and the community."
Sue Rollins created a scarecrow for the trail, the Feckenham Lion Tamer, and displayed it on her driveway.
Mrs Rollins said: "We have only lived here for a year but I love the feel of this event and it's great for kids as they hunt for each scarecrow.
"I started putting our scarecrow together at the end of August, and it took a couple of weeks."
Tina Underhill, who has served ice cream for 55 years, had her van Tina's Ices set up The Square. She said: "I've done this event for 10 or so years now.
"I love the atmosphere here and the people - it's a friendly village."
