A MONTH'S worth of rail disruption is ahead after it was revealed that work is scheduled for October.
Great Western Railway services will be affected by rail replacement work by National Railway on weekends throughout October and other engineering work.
The tracks in Worcester will be replaced throughout the weekends in October, affecting services across Worcestershire.
Services will be most affected between the weekends of October 4 and 12, October 20, and until 11am on October 27.
Train services between Worcestershire Parkway and Great Malvern are also impacted by engineering work on the weekends of October 12 and 13 and October 20.
GWR Customer Services Director Rachel Geliamassi said: “This improvement work forms part of an ongoing programme of maintenance, helping to ensure we can continue to provide consistent and reliable services.
“To keep people moving as quickly and efficiently as we can however, while this work is completed buses will replace trains and journey times may be a little longer, so please do check before you travel.”
Replacement buses are planned by GWR between Gloucester and Cheltenham Spa and for Worcester Foregate Street.
Buses are also planned to replace CrossCountry trains between Birmingham New Street and Gloucester, plus between Bromsgrove and Cheltenham Spa.
