A DRIVER needed hospital treatment after he flipped his car onto its roof during a dramatic crash which led to the temporary closure of a main road.
The crash resulted in a car being flipped onto its roof in Pickersleigh Avenue in Malvern on Friday morning.
A man in his 50s was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester following the crash which involved two cars. It is understood the man has not suffered serious injuries.
The road had to be closed in the aftermath but it reopened later this same morning after police, an ambulance crew and the fire and rescue service attended the incident.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We received a call around 7.50am this morning (October 4) with a report of a collision on Pickersleigh Avenue in Malvern.
"Officers arrived at the incident to find two cars involved. One person has been taken to hospital with injuries."
A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Two Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – one each from Malvern and Worcester Fire Stations – were called at 7.45am to a road traffic collision in Worcester Road, Malvern.
"The incident involved two vehicles, one of which was on all four wheels and the other on its roof. One male casualty in his 50s was handed over to the care of the ambulance service who attended along with police. The road is closed in both directions and crews remain at the scene."
A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Pickersleigh Avenue and Worcester Road in Malvern just before 7.50am.

"An ambulance was sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found two cars had been involved in a collision and one had ended up on its roof. The driver of that car, a man, was treated by ambulance staff for injuries not believed to be serious and taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital."
In a tweet, officers said: "The road is now open and traffic is flowing normally. We are also pleased to report that there were no serious injuries."
