PLANS have been submitted to upgrade Worcester City's temporary home at Claines Lane.
But the club's owner Simon Lancaster said plans for a new stand, which needs to be able to cover 150 spectators, do not change the need for a permanent home to make the club sustainable.
The application is for a terraced stand at the Claines Lane end of the ground.
The application is now live on the Worcester City Council planning portal and a consultation with local residents is open until October 14.
Following City's promotion last season, the club has moved up to Step 4 of the football pyramid.

This means the club needs to adjust Claines Lane to fit with the FA National League ground grading requirements.
The main points the club has to look into in order to make their ground up to Step 4 standards includes introducing further cover for a minimum of 100 spectators.
The planning application for the new stand, if given the green light, would solve that issue.
The pay booths will have to be converted to turnstiles, at least two new press tables will need to be installed and 10 home and away director seats need to be added to stands.
The club does want to move away from Claines Lane and into a permanent home, with a planning application for the mooted Worcestershire Community Sports Park in Fernhill Heath expected to be submitted by the end of the year.
The ground plans are part of owner Simon Lancaster's 10-year vision to permanently bring the club back to the city, move it further up the football pyramid and transform it into the area's top youth talent hub.
Mr Lancaster told the Worcester News: "We have made no secret of the fact that to be sustainable in the long term, the most important thing is that we need our own home, and we are working very hard to achieve this.
"However, we have to simultaneously work on continuing to progress in the short term and that includes these plans to improve Claines Lane and ensure that it meets the grading requirements following our recent promotion."
