A CAR was engulfed in flames after a suspected arson attack in a residential city street.
Plumes of smoke could be seen by neighbours living in Dines Green after a car was destroyed in a fire near Gresham Road.
Neighbours had lined the streets at around 6pm yesterday (Wednesday) evening while they watch two firefighters put out the blaze.
A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "A crew from Worcester Fire Station was called at 6.06pm on October 2 to a small vehicle on fire in Gresham Road, Worcester.
"A saloon car, which was 100% involved in fire, was extinguished by two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using a hosereel jet.
"Police were requested to attend as arson was suspected.
"There were no casualties.
"The incident was marked as pending closure at 7.18."
Worcester News has contacted West Mercia Police for a comment.
