POLICE swooped to the rescue to help a swan that became trapped after being bullied.
Droitwich SNT spotted the swan stuck in brambles in Vines Park and called Wychbold Swan Rescue to help recover it.
It had managed to free itself before the Wychbold Swan Rescue arrived, but police said they were made aware that other swans in the park were bullying it.
A spokesperson for Droitwich SNT said: "The swan managed to free itself and get away from the brambles before Wychbold Swan Rescue arrived.
"After speaking with the experts it seems that this swan was being bullied by the other swans as there was another one near to the swan.
"Swans do get very territorial when they are in their pairs and this one was an intruder.
"Once it took itself to the water, it swam away very quickly and the swans were left and no injuries sustained to any swans."
