A FLOOD warning has been issued for the river Avon in Worcestershire.
Heavy rainfall forecast for tonight (Thursday, September 26) has led to the UK government issuing a flood warning for the river Avon at Wyre Piddle, near Pershore.
The government guidance states "river levels are rising at the Evesham river gauge because of recent and forecast rainfall", with "flooding of property, roads and farmland possible" from early Friday morning (September 27).
The flood warning states that properties and roads in Wyre Piddle could be affected alongside Wyre Piddle caravan park.
Eckington Road, which lies south of the village, could be impassable as a result, according to the UK government's guidance.
The flooding warning comes after the Met Office had issued an amber weather warning for Worcestershire from 6pm tonight (September 26) until 6am on Friday (September 27).
