A LARGE tree in the city centre is going to be removed by Worcester City Council.

The tree, which is located on the Le Vesinet Promenade near Cafe Viaduct and near the railway bridge has been given a "Notice of imminent removal" order from the council. 

Despite not giving a fixed date or a specific reason for its removal, the tree will likely be removed in the coming weeks. 

Removal orders are often given when the council suspects the tree's health is waning and could collapse in bad weather.
