MORE detail has emerged about a police incident after a man was arrested and charged for being in possession of a large hunting knife while a college went into lockdown.
Paul Gill is due at Worcester Crown Court next month as he faces multiple charges including possession of a knife and drugs after an incident at the Oak Apple pub in Spetchley Road in Worcester on Friday (September 20).
The 35-year-old of no fixed abode appeared before Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Monday in relation to the Oak Apple incident and is due to appear at Worcester Crown Court on October 25, listed as a sentence hearing.
In relation to the Oak Apple incident, Gill is charged with: possession of a 'large hunting knife' in a public place; possession of a controlled drug of class B (ketamine); two charges of obstruct/resist a constable in execution of their duty.
Gill also faces other charges: burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal, on September 13 last year at Vue Cinema in Worcester and criminal damage to property valued under £5,000 on September 6 last year by damaging the roof of the property to the value of £1,400 belonging to Platform Housing 'intending to destroy or damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged'.
He is also charged with theft from a Co-op in Worcester on September 13 this year when he stole Lenor fabric conditioner and a pack of Ferrero Rocher chocolate to the value of approximately £15.

Students at Worcester Sixth Form were reportedly put into lockdown while police responded to an incident at The Oak Apple pub in Spetchley Road.
Police had been called to the pub after reports of a man with a knife at just after 3pm.
