THERE is still a risk of flooding in Evesham as water levels remain high in the River Avon.

An update to a flood alert for the River Avon said river levels remain high
at the Evesham river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall.

The statement put on the Gov.uk website said because of this, the risk of
roads and farmland flooding remains.

It is expected flooding will affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Avon from Abbotts Salford to Tewkesbury.

Other locations that may be affected include Offenham, Evesham, Twyning and the Eckington Road.

Mill Bank Road from Jubilee Bridge to Fladbury has already been impacted.

There is a predicted river peak of 2.4m in Evesham today.

Drivers are being advised to plan their routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.

No further significant rainfall is forecast in the next 24 hours and the situation is being closely monitored.

We expect a further update at midday.
