A FLOOD alert has now been issued for the River Salwarpe.
The alert was issued on the Gov.uk website and could impact Droitwich and Ombersley.
River levels are rising at the Bromsgrove Burcot Avenue river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall.
It is expected flooding will affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Catshill to Hawford, while other impacted areas include Stoke Heath and Elmley Lovett.
The Gov.uk statement added: "Further rainfall is forecast over the next eight hours.
"We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are clearing weed screens and liaising with Local Authorities.
"Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and avoid contact with flood water."
The alert will be updated at 6pm or if the situation changes.
