POLICE remain on the scene this morning (September 22) after armed cops closed a Worcester road and "removed a man from a home".

Officers closed Wyld's Lane yesterday (September 21) for more than four hours according to residents.

The incident allegedly resulted in a man being "taken away".

Neighbours said that more than ten police cars including multiple armed police officers and police dogs swooped into the residential street at around 5pm.

One neighbour called Julia said: "They closed the road at around 5pm yesterday (September 21).

"It started with just two police cars but every couple of minutes more and more arrived.

"There must have been at least ten in the end.

"It was all very scary, I was watching it all play out from my upstairs window.

"They knocked on the door and nobody answered so a couple of police officers went into the side garden.

"They first took an elderly woman out and then quite a lot later a young man.

"I don't know why it took them so long but there wasn't a lot of shouting, I thought it would have been something more serious."

The road has since reopened, however one police car remains at the scene.

The officer in the car said to our reporter that he was guarding the scene and didn't know what happened last night.

West Mercia Police has been approached for comment.

Julia continued: "It was quite scary to see the dogs barking and so many armed police with their guns pointed at the house.

"Hopefully it's something we won't have to go through again as it was quite the experience.

"To be honest the worst thing was not being able to leave the house and go to the shops like we had planned.

"It was a Saturday night and we had planned to go out and get something to eat.

"Unfortunately those plans had to be dropped and we had some frozen chicken nuggets instead."
