A senior figure at the University of Worcester has taken on a new leadership role at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce.
Dr Scott Andrews, head of the university's Business School, has been appointed as the chair of the Worcestershire Council and vice president of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber board.
The Chamber of Commerce is a network of business leaders that advocates for the interests of its members, which include Worcester Bosch, Hewett Recruitment, and Worcestershire County Council.

Dr Andrews said: "I’m delighted to have been voted into this role and for the support I’ve received from the former chair of the council."
He added: "I’ve been on the council for a while now, and it has given me the opportunity to understand more about the way businesses operate not just locally and regionally, but nationally and internationally.
"It’s a privilege to now step up and play a bigger part in something that has such an impact on the future."
The group meets regularly to discuss matters important to members, with updates from these meetings sent to the British Chamber of Commerce to inform and guide government policy.
Dr Andrews said: "The close relationship the University of Worcester has with other members of the Chamber enables the University to stay ahead of changes in demand for graduates looking for recruitment into local businesses and ensures we are delivering the most up-to-date programmes to meet the needs of employers across our region."
The Chamber is a community of more than a thousand organisations from across the region, with businesses from a range of sectors including finance, housing, food, retail, insurance, science, and defence.
Dr Andrews' role as the chair of the Worcestershire Area Council and vice president of the Chamber will last for four years, after which he will become president of the Chamber for two years.
