MINOR changes to the Scala and Corn Exchange plans have been given planning approval by city councillors.
The changes included the addition of a new staircase to the mezzanine level in the listed Corn Exchange building, a new ventilation and heating system, and a new connection between the two buildings for use as a fire escape.
Planning permission for the council’s multi-million plans to regenerate the buildings was granted back in March.
The latest changes were agreed at a planning committee meeting on Thursday (September 19).
Cllr Jenny Barnes asked: “Have solar panels been considered for the roof?”
Planning officer Paul Round said councillors were there to consider the amendment, not look at what can and can’t be added to with regards to the overall development.
