A city pub with a flat above it has been sold 'subject to contract' as signs appear on the building which lies on a busy main road.
The West Midlands Tavern in Lowesmoor Place in Worcester was advertised for sale for £300,000 although no details of any buyer have yet been made public.
'Sold' and 'vacant possession' signs have appeared on the side of the building. On Thursday the pub doors were locked and there was no answer at the pub which is listed online as 'permanently closed'.
Vacant possession is where sellers or tenants have moved out and removed all of their belongings, leaving behind only those items agreed with the buyer.
The website of property consultants Fisher German contains details about the two storey-building, described as 'a pub with flat above'.
However, a person answering the phone at the company office declined to give further details about any sale.
On the Fisher German website, the building is described as being 2,517 square feet (233.8 square metres), a two storey building with single storey extension to the rear.
The ground floor includes a bar, seating area, kitchen, toilets, separate function/skittles alley while the first floor provides a 'spacious two bedroom flat with bathroom, living room and kitchen'.

The 'unlisted' property is further described as being 'located within the Shrub Hill Opportunity Zone, which has been identified as being suitable for mixed use/commercial development'.
It is also described as being 'within the Canal Conservation and Archeologically Sensitive Area'.
