DROITWICH and EVESHAM'S MP has reaffirmed his support for British farmers on Back British Farming Day.
Nigel Huddleston met with representatives from the National Farmers' Union and other key figures in the agricultural industry and took the opportunity to discuss the challenges facing farmers today, including rising input costs, climate impacts, and evolving trade regulations.
Speaking after the meeting, Mr Huddleston said: "British farmers are the backbone of our rural communities, working tirelessly to provide high-quality, climate-friendly food for our tables while also acting as stewards of our treasured landscapes.
"I am incredibly proud to represent a predominantly rural constituency where farming and food production are major employers.
"It was a pleasure to meet with the NFU on Back British Farming Day to hear directly from farmers about the challenges they are facing.
"From volatile weather conditions to increased costs, it’s clear that we must continue to support them not just with words, but with action.
"I will continue to hold the government to account to ensure our farming sector gets the support it deserves, so they can keep delivering for our country and securing the UK’s food future.”
