A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a four vehicle crash on the A44.

A road closure is in place between the Berkeley Arms and the Spetchley Roundabout following the smash.

Police don't believe any injuries caused by the crash to be serious or life-threatening at this time. 

Traffic has been at a near standstill for around two hours now. 

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "Due to a four-vehicle collision, there is a road closure in place on Evesham Road, Worcester.

"The A44, between The Berkeley Arms and the Spetchley roundabout, is currently closed.

"We don't believe any injuries at this time to be serious or life threatening.

"One man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving."

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service is currently at the scene.

A spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision at 2.38pm. 

"We sent one fire engine, which is still at the scene."
