The countdown is on as Strictly Come Dancing returns to our TV screens this weekend.

Our Saturday nights are about to brimming with more glitz and glamour than ever before.

There will be a new class of celebrities competing to lift the glitterball trophy this autumn, following in the footsteps of 2023 winners Ellie Leach and her professional dance partner Vito Coppola.

Head judge Shirley Ballas will be back once more alongside Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse.

Meanwhile, dynamic duo Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will be presenting the 20th anniversary series but how much do they get paid for hosting one of the biggest British TV shows during the prime time weekend slots?

When does Strictly Come Dancing 2023 start?

This year Strictly returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday, September 14 from 7.20pm.

Professional dancer Amy Dowden will make her much-anticipated return to the ballroom floor following her breast cancer diagnosis in May 2023.

To mark her momentous return, there will be a special, celebratory group dance featuring all of the pros which will air in the launch show.

The empowering quickstep routine will see Amy front and centre as she dazzles the audience, alongside her fellow dancers.

The routine was choreographed by Jason Gilkison and is danced to a medley of Training Season by Dua Lipa, Busy Earnin’ and Keep Moving both by Jungle, and Candle Flame by Jungle and Eric the Architect, as performed by Dave Arch and his band.
