A hotel that is less than an hour’s drive from Worcester has been named among the best 50 in the world in a list by The Telegraph.
The newspaper said that the Telegraph Hotel Awards are “your guide to the planet’s most amazing places to stay, from boutique boltholes you’ll be recommending for years to the five-star palaces that genuinely justify their price tags.”
Individual awards have also been issued including the best new hotel, best budget hotel, best spa hotel, best for sustainability, best for accessibility and best for families.
Explaining how the hotels were judged, The Telegraph said: “Some 24 of our hotel reviewers made up five judging panels; Europe, Asia, Americas and Caribbean, Africa and Oceania. Using their own expertise, our reviews and an analytical formula, they were able to rate and thus rank the hotels in question.”
Hampton Manor, Solihull, which is a 51-minute drive from Worcester, ranked in 29th place and features in the list alongside hotels and other accommodations across the world including in Chile, Italy, Australia, Japan and more.
What did The Telegraph say about Hampton Manor?
Fiona Kerr, Europe judge, said: “Hampton Manor feels like a wonderful secret, from its less obvious location to Michelin-starred Grace & Savour restaurant with its own set of beautifully pared-back, contemporary rooms, like a mini hotel within a hotel.”
The Telegraph added: “Any foodie worth their salt will know Hampton Manor and its two buzzy restaurants: Smoke, helmed by a former Masterchef: The Professionals winner, and Michelin-starred Grace & Savour.
“The young couple who preside over the hotel, and their enthusiastic local team, have made it the standout property in the region.
“You’ll instantly feel your shoulders drop as you settle in for a complimentary glass of fizz and slice of cake in the library bar after check-in.
“Hot drinks and pastries are served in the lobby in case you rise earlier than the breakfast service – it’s these little details that put Hampton Manor ahead.”
Double rooms can be booked from £200 (room only).
Hampton Manor has been praised by visitors who have shared their experience on Tripadvisor.
Guests have left 590 reviews, resulting in a 4.5-star rating and this is what they thought.

One visitor said: “We stayed for a 40th birthday and it was truly incredible. The added extras made this far beyond just a hotel stay, from the welcome drink & cake, wine tasting & meet the makers tour to the small things such as a map for local walks, cocktail recommendations and staff that couldn't have been friendlier & more down to earth.
“The food at smoke was delicious and was set in beautiful surroundings. We couldn't have been more delighted with our stay or recommend this place more. Thank you Hampton Manor.”
