A HIDDEN-gem cafe where "everything is served with a smile" offers visitors more than the standard tea and cake.
The Apple Tree Kitchen in Clifton-upon-Teme is a café come restaurant nestled in a working farm and often leaves customers feeling as though they had "just been on holiday".
It is run by mother-daughter duo Jo and Charlotte Thompson and can be a destination people often miss when they drive past.
The cafe is unique in its setting in 25 acres of landscaped gardens and grounds, which feature several farm animals, a children’s play area, lakes, and ornamental ponds.
It also hosts its very own pizza night, where the quaint cafe becomes a little Pizzeria in the Teme Valley.
Many customers have shared their delight on TripAdvisor after discovering the eatery, which has led to it being dubbed one of Worcestershire's hidden gems.
One reviewer wrote: "What a great find this place was.
"Set in beautiful surroundings, it gives you a short walk before calling in for delicious homemade cakes and great coffee!"
Others wrote how they were often "blown away with the quality of food, portion sizes and friendly staff".
"Many of our customers often remark that they are no more than 15 minutes from home but feel as if they are on holiday," said Miss Thompson.
"We frequently receive wonderful feedback on the fabulous team working at The Apple Tree Kitchen.
"They’re all really hardworking, friendly, and welcoming—the face and backbone of our business.
"As a family, we have always enjoyed spending time together over food and love eating out.
"When we started the cafe, we tried to embody all the elements of eating out that we love: friendly smiling service, good quality ingredients, ethical suppliers and delicious food!"
The eatery opened four years ago by accident when Miss Thompson pursued her mum to leave retirement and join her in running a mobile barista coffee and cake business.
Then, as Covid hit, the pair were given the opportunity to open on Pitlands Farm and built the business from there.
Miss Thompson added: "Over the four years, we have built up a wonderfully loyal customer base, some of whom we’ve got to know very well - which has been a fabulous and unexpected gift!"
"We work hard to offer a wide, varied menu that caters to our vision of a Traditional Country Cafe and, on Sundays, a restaurant."
The Apple Tree Kitchen also offers different activities for its customers such as Create with Clay sessions and a Fairy Door Scavenger Hunt on selected days.
