THE Worcester City runs are returning this weekend- with many of the roads set to be closed. 

The Worcester 10k and half marathon will both take place on Sunday, September 15.

The junior run will also be returning and will get under way at 8.45am. 

Commuters will be impacted by the runs with 45 road closures in total and many remaining in place for most of the day.

As well as Sunday's runs, Paula’s Families on Track, the family relay event, will take place at 11am on Saturday, September 14 at Worcester Racecourse.

The first roads to be impacted will be Croft Road, Netherton Court, via the Hive Bollards, and Grandstand Road, which will all be shut between 5am and 4pm. 

Between 8am and 11.15am, Hylton Road, Tybridge Street, Bromwich Parade, Himbleton Road, and Fern Road from the junction with Comer Gardens to Himbleton Road will be closed. 

Comer Gardens, Oldbury Road, from its junction with Henwick Road to its junction with Comer Gardens, and Henwick Road, will also be closed between these hours. 

New Road, Bridge Street, All Saints Road, Dolday, The Butts, Farrier Street, Castle Street, Foregate Street, The Foregate, Angel Street and Angel Place will also close at 8am but will remain closed until midday. 

Also closed between these times are Angel Row, Broad Street, from its junction with Angel Place to Deansway, the High Street, St Swithin’s Street, Mealcheapen Street, New Street, Friar Street, College Street, Deansway, Quay Street, Kleve Walk and Severn Way.

Between 8am and 12.30pm, Portland Walk, Mill Street, Diglis Road, Basin Road, from Layland Walk junction to the Crossley Road Junction, Diglis Dock Road from Diglis Dock to the Navigation Road Junction, Navigation Road, and Diglis Footbridge will be closed.

And Worcester Bridge, North Quay and North Parade will remain closed from 8am until 1pm. 

Although no cars will be able to get down these roads during the run, pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. 

Cars and other vehicles will be able to access their houses where able.

Croft Road Car Park will also be fully closed between 5am and 5pm on Sunday.
