MORE than a thousand homes, a primary school and a solar farm are included in plans for part of the Worcestershire Parkway development.
A section of a proposed Stoulton relief road also forms part of the plan for land south of Wadborough Road, between Stoulton and Norton.
Initial plans have been put forward by Wain Estates and would become part of the new town planned for the area around Worcestershire Parkway railway station.
The developer hasn’t yet submitted a planning application but has put in a ‘scoping report’, which acts as a formal request to Wychavon District Council for a ‘scoping opinion’ on the project.
The council will then need to tell Wain Estates the scope and level of detail that should be provided in an environmental statement.

In this case, the developer expects this to lead to a hybrid application.
It will be seeking full planning approval for a kilometre-long section of the Stoulton relief road, including two new roundabouts, cycle lanes and pedestrian crossings, and a 25 MegaWatt solar farm.
Outline permission will also be sought for up to 1,200 homes, a two-form entry primary school and what is referred to as a ‘southern neighbourhood centre’, which is likely to be a small-scale mix of shops and leisure facilities.
This development would be at the southern end of what will eventually become a new town.
Plans already put forward by St Modwen Homes and Hallam Land Management are for a total of 2,500 homes in the northern part of the site, between the M5 and Worcestershire Parkway.
The aim for the Parkway scheme is for 5,000 homes to be built by 2041, followed by another 5,000 after that.
Thousands of homes will also be built on the other side of the city as part of an urban extension of Worcester.
Bloor Homes has already had plans to build hundreds of homes off Martley Road approved and in July submitted new proposals for 372 homes plus a sports pavilion and pitches, a pump track and a play area.
