A WOMAN was left with serious injuries after being attacked with a knife.

The woman was struck with the weapon in the street at Knapp Way, Malvern, and later went to hospital with serious injuries. 

The victim was attacked at 8.30pm on Saturday, September 7 and she made her way to a nearby address where a 999 call was made. 

Ambulance crews treated her for serious injuries before being left in the care of police.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson told the Gazette the woman was required to go to hospital with her injuries.

Police are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the attack.

Detective Constable Benjamin Kings said: “We believe this to be an isolated incident and do not think there to be any risk to the wider public.

"I would like to hear from anybody who may have seen the incident that night or from anyone who may have any information that would help with the investigation."

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to an address nearby following the incident at around 8.30pm on Saturday, September 7. 

"An ambulance was sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a woman. 

"She was treated for serious injuries and given self-care advice before being left in the care of police colleagues."
