Residents and visitors are being asked to help keep Worcester looking its best by reporting littering.

Worcester City Council has a 'Report It' page at www.worcester.gov.uk/report-it, where anyone can alert council staff to issues such as litter, overflowing bins, and areas that need tidying.

Councillor Zoe Cookson, chair of the council's Environment Committee, said: "As councillors, we are particularly concerned about making sure Worcester stays beautiful, but we need your help.

"Our staff regularly patrol the city and make sure areas are looking at their best.

"However, it is impossible to monitor every area all day, and that is where residents, businesses, and visitors can help."

The online page can also be used to report abandoned vehicles, broken glass, and excessive noise from domestic or commercial premises.

It also allows for the quick and easy reporting of dangerous or fallen trees, graffiti and fly-posting, fly-tipping, and animal fouling.

The council can only take action on land that it owns, while social housing providers and private landlords are responsible for land they own in Worcester.

Once reported, the council can then investigate and inform the landowner about the incident.

Councillor Karen Lewing, vice-chair of the council's Environment Committee, said: "By visiting www.worcester.gov.uk/report-it, you can pinpoint if anything needs tidying.

"By working together, we can ensure that Worcester remains a welcoming and attractive place for everyone.

"Let’s keep Worcester looking its best."

For those who prefer to report incidents in person or over the phone, the council's customer service team can be contacted on 01905 722233 from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm.

Alternatively, residents can speak to a member of the customer service team at the Guildhall at the same times.

There is also information on the website for those experiencing excessive noise from domestic or commercial premises.
