A care home has raised more than £600 after hosting a summer fête.

Rashwood Care Home, in Rashwood, Droitwich, hosted its annual summer fête on Saturday, August 31, with a variety of activities for visitors to enjoy.

The event included tombola stalls, a raffle, a 'guess the teddy's name' competition, and jewellery and cake stalls.

Community businesses Foxalls Creations, Carl's Superwhip, and Copyholt Flowers also supported the event.

The highlight of the day was a visit from The Good Day Farm, which brought along farm animals for attendees to enjoy.

The Mayor of Droitwich, Councillor Alex Sinton, also joined in the celebrations.

Linda Rowbottom and Sue Groves, daughters of one of the residents, said: "It was such a lovely atmosphere and such a nice opportunity to have all the families together in such a fun way.

"There were lots of little ones, especially drawn in by the farm animals, it was lovely for Mum to see."

Gill Oldfield, a resident at Rashwood, added: "The farm animals were a great success; Sandra the Pig was great.

"The Foxalls Creations, we love her visits.

"It was so lovely to see lots of children, there was gorgeous soft toys for them to enjoy.

"We had a lovely time sat on the patio, under the umbrellas with all the refreshments."

The care home staff were pleased to see different generations having fun together.

The summer fête raised a total of £668.95.

All proceeds will go towards enhancing the residents' quality of life through various activities and programmes.

The care home is a residential and nursing care facility that provides compassionate and personalised care for older adults.

The care home is now looking ahead to its next event, which will be a Christmas Fayre on Saturday, December 7.

The event will take place from 11am until 3pm and will feature a variety of stalls, food and drink, and even a visit from Santa.
