A popular jump, jive and swing band are set to perform in Pershore.

King Pleasure and The Biscuit Boys are known for their energetic performances and authentic rhythm and blues sound.

Due in part to their lively stage presence, the band has a reputation for being one of the finest rhythm and blues bands to come from outside the USA.

With more than 30 years on the road, the band has performed over 6,500 times in 21 different countries.

The band's career includes opening shows for music legends such as B.B. King, Cab Calloway and His Orchestra, and Ray Charles.

They also toured with the original Blues Brothers Band - the one featured in the movie.

The band is currently promoting their 11th Big Bear CD release, Live at Last!, and have been performing their high-octane jump and jive act across UK and Europe this year.

The group have headlined the Birmingham Jazz & Blues Festival for an unprecedented 14 years, and have played on 36 radio shows and made 73 television appearances.

The current band line-up features King Pleasure on vocals and baritone saxophone, Boysey Battrum on alto and tenor saxophone, Bullmoose K Shirley on guitar, Mighty Matt Foundling on piano, Shark Van Schtoop on bass, and Gary ‘The Enforcer’ Barber on drums.

Tickets for the concert are priced at £21, and are available now.

The band will take to the stage at Number 8 on Saturday, October 5, at 7.30pm.
