FILM crews from a national television show filmed scenes for its new series at a unique Worcestershire restaurant.

Channel 5's Shop Smart, Save Money was filming in Toast in Flyford Flavell, between Worcester and Evesham, and the restaurant's director has spilt the beans on why they were there.

Film crews and presented Jon Bentley visited the popular breakfast restaurant last week after choosing the aptly named establishment to compare cheap and expensive toasters.

Toast's director Morgan Sanders said: "They were filming here last Tuesday (September 3).

"It was not about us, they were comparing budget versus high brand toasters and I think they chose us because our name is linked.

"We had been in discussions for a couple of months and we were more heavily involved than I thought we would be.

"They asked for our input for which one would be best for our establishment and our customers.

"It was a really lovely experience, something a bit different and a good day".

Shop Smart, Save Money first aired in 2018 and is currently filming is third season.

Ms Sanders continued: "It was a little bit daunting, you'd think I'd be alright talking about toast but then three cameras are pointing at you and you don't know what to say.

"It was a big privilege and a great achievement for a major corporation to be filming here and we would definitely welcome more in the future.

"I am a massive fan of the show, John is a generational legend, but I haven't had much time lately with the little one.

"It's the first television show that has been filmed in the restaurant but it's nice to be noticed and shows us that our brand's out there which is a really nice compliment.

"The episode is set to come out in late October and it's definitely something we will post on our social media, it's probably going to be a bit daunting seeing myself on camera."

TOAST recently unveiled plans to add a new deli with the intention of highlighting the products it uses in the restaurant.
