Every home at a "high-quality" shared ownership development near Worcester has been snapped up.

Platform Home Ownership linked up with partner Bloor Homes to design and construct Elgar Park in Lower Broadheath.

The association has said that the development helps address a rise in demand for affordable housing, with shared ownership growing increasingly popular among first-time home buyers.

The beginning of the year saw a 152 per cent sale increase for Platform, indicating a trend among buyers to consider shared ownership for getting onto the property ladder.

Shared ownership offers home seekers the opportunity to purchase a part of the property and rent the remaining amount.

Typically, buyers purchase between 10 per cent and 75 per cent of the property.

This reduces the amount needed for a deposit to between five per cent and 10 per cent of the share rather than the full amount.

All houses within the development were fitted with central heating and double-glazed windows, have allocated parking and a 10-year build warranty.
