A WOMAN who claimed her dog was stolen while she was visiting her dying nan has thanked everyone for making him "too hot to handle".
Danni Hall, from Worcester, has finally been reunited with her 14-year-old border collie, Bob, after he was allegedly stolen from her garden last night (Sunday).
She claimed she had left the back door open so he could wander around the garden while she was seeing her nan, who is on end-of-life care.
But when she got home at 9pm, Bob was nowhere to be found and she said her garden gate was broken.
West Mercia Police said they received a report of a missing dog from Kilbury Drive but had not attended the incident because it was later found.
"I imagine they (the alleged thieves) got scared after seeing my (Facebook) post," she said.
"I am absolutely over the moon. I cannot believe it.
"What happened with my nan and then this - I am so happy we got him back.
"Honestly, thank you so much to everyone.
"I cannot describe how thankful I am - there is no way I can repay it."
Bob was found wandering around Worcester Woods at around 11am this morning, and Miss Hall assumes it was the public re-sharing her social media post, which made those who allegedly stole him let him go.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "At around 9.20pm last night we received a report of a dog missing from Kilbury Drive in Worcester.
"Officers did not attend and the dog has since been found."
Miss Hall said Bob was very shaken by the ordeal.
"There is no way he could have got out of the garden and the gate was broken," she said.
"I was screaming and crying (when I found out).
"He is the best dog ever and has never caused any trouble - he is really friendly and has never been nasty.
"I can imagine he would have just gone with them.
"I do not know why someone would do something like this unless it was to sell him.
"I would have rather them robbed the house than take him."
Miss Hall said Bob is now back home and enjoying many cuddles with the family.
