PEOPLE will be able to visit historic locations across Worcester for free during this year's Heritage Open Days.

Visitors can flock to heritage landmarks in the city many of which will be opening up parts the public do not usually see.

Here is what will be available in Worcester in 2024:

The Guildhall, WR1 2EY

The Guildhall has a history that stretches back over three centuries, which will be on full display for visitors on Saturday (September 7) when guided tours will take people around the building, including the holding cells which were used when the Guildhall operated as a prison.

Tours will take place between 10am and 3pm.

Museum of Royal Worcester, WR1 2ND

Former workers at Royal Worcester Ceramic will be demonstrating their skills along with flower modelling and ceramic painting in the museum's shop.

The displays will be held between 10am and 12.30pm and 1.30pm and 4pm on Saturday, September 14.

The Commandery, WR1 2HU

The former Civil War headquarters has been converted into a museum and garden. Visitors can take a tour of the building and view the important roles it held throughout its history.

The Commandery is offering free entry for their open day on Sunday, September 15, between 10am and 3pm.

St Swithun's Church, WR1 2RH

The church, which has recently been renovated using money from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, will invite visitors to carve their own stamp for the Make Your Mark banner.

The church will also run Hidden Parts tours that show off the secrets hidden from view.

The church will be open on Saturday (September 7), with tours taking place at 10.30am and 2pm.

Greyfriars House and Garden, WR1 2LZ

The National Trust will celebrate Heritage Open Days this year by opening a part of the building rarely seen by visitors: the north wing.

Several guided tours will take visitors through the house while they learn more about its history and the people who lived there.

Tours will take place until Saturday, September 14.

Tudor House, WR1 2NA

The 16th-century house will be displaying special Tudor-style embroidered curtains and counterpane that were handcrafted by the Bedfellows group.

The group will be at the house to meet and chat with any visitors.

The house will be open on Saturday, September 14 between 10am and 4pm, and Sunday, September 15 between 11am and 3pm.

Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum, WR1 1DT

Visitors can contribute to the next exhibition at the museum on Saturday, September 14, between 10am and 4pm and listen to spotlight talks held at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm and 1:30pm.

Worcester News archives at Crowngate, WR1 3LE

The History and Heritage POD will give visitors access to 100 boxes of cuttings and photos from throughout the paper's history, as well as 250 volumes of the Berrows Journals that date back to 1805.

Tours of the archive will take place at 10am, 12pm and 2pm on Friday, September 13.

Worcester Cathedral, WR1 2LA

The cathedral will provide a whole host of events on Saturday, September 14, including a tour of the cathedral at 11am, a historic graffiti workshop at 11am and 2pm, a tour of the historic graffiti in the cathedral at 12pm and 3pm, a tour of the cathedrals gardens at 1pm and a tour of the most significant women in the Cathedral's history at 2pm.
