RAF Fairford opened its doors to the latest episode of The Fighter Show, focusing on the Eurofighter Typhoon and the RAF's Typhoon Display Team (TDT).

The episode features the 2024 display pilot, Flight Lieutenant David 'Turbo' Turnbull.

The Fighter Show is an award-winning YouTube series that provides exclusive access to the Typhoon Display Team's inner workings.

The episode begins with host Flo Taitsch meeting Turbo at RAF Coningsby, where they discuss his role in the TDT in front of the 2024 Typhoon jet, 'Moggy'.

Flo then heads to RAF Fairford, the home of the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT), where Turbo performs for a sell-out crowd of 150,000 fans.

Turbo said: "It’s a real privilege to be selected in the role.

"We’ve had so many great display pilots in the past in the UK, and overseas as well, so to be a part of that small group feels really special."

After their chat, the episode features insights from Higgy, a member of the TDT PR team, and Ben, from the TDT Engineering team.

They discuss the dynamics of the team, with Turbo adding: "It’s not hard to stay humble and keep my feet on the ground.

"I’ve got the entire office and instructor pilots, close by, who’re happy to make fun of me which keeps me humble."

Taitsch said: "Turbo and the RAF Typhoon Display Team are entertaining hundreds of thousands of fans across Europe this summer, and so it’s fantastic that the Fighter Show is able to give them this ‘behind-the-scenes’ access.

“It’s a brilliant episode for anyone to watch – whether they’re new to the Typhoon displays or a seasoned air show visitor. "

Since its launch in 2023, The Fighter Show has attracted more than one million views on YouTube.

The series offers a glimpse into the world of aviation and defence.

The latest episode continues this trend, focusing on the people who make the Typhoon Displays possible.
