Many Brits travel to Alton Towers Resort for a thrilling day out each year but those coming from further afield may decide to stay in a hotel nearby.
Since Worcester is more than two hours away from the theme park, knowing some options of where to stay could come in handy.
The Telegraph has rated a handful of hotels that are located near Alton Towers and shared where the best ones are.

The Tawny Hotel in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire was given a 9/10 rating and offers guests a variety of places to stay, including treehouses and boathouses.
Here’s what The Telegraph had to say about the hotel: “The Tawny provides a bucolic retreat that feels a world away from the action of Alton Towers but is in fact just a 23-minute drive from the park.
“The hotel is made up of several buildings, which are scattered across a historic estate, home to woodland, lakes and follies, spanning 70 acres of the Staffordshire countryside.
“Common areas, The Plumicorn restaurant and Feather Lounge also featuring a games room, are joined by inspired accommodation options including treehouses, boathouses, shepherd’s huts and the Lookout.
“Some of these rooms come with twin or bunk beds and others are interconnecting. The heated outdoor pool is popular with families.”
The Tawny Hotel has been praised on Tripadvisor, receiving a 4.5 rating from 476 reviews.
One visitor said: “We had a superb stay in beautiful accomodation and grounds and 5 star service. A peaceful and relaxing break, with superb food in the restaurant. A lovely touch was the option of a breakfast hamper delivery to our accomodation with plenty to choose from and excellent quality ingredients.”

Another shared their experience: “Stayed here on a Sunday evening and it was blissfully relaxing. We had Sunday lunch in the restaurant before checking in, very friendly check in and although offered a buggy to be dropped off to our room we decided to use the map and walk to the room. The room was lovely and spacious.
“We enjoyed room service on the evening which was delivered quickly and hot. First time trying an oatcake at breakfast! Had a pleasant stroll in the grounds and a couple of games of table tennis before checking out. Overall was a great stay and we will definitely be back and will try the pool next time!”
