A SPARROW hawk became tangled in netting and was unable to free itself.

Firefighters from Worcester Fire Station were called to the High Street in Worcester to free the trapped adult bird at 5.30pm on Tuesday (August 27).

A spokesperson from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said the sparrow hawk was caught underneath netting and had to be released by firefighters using a triple ladder extension.

The fire service confirmed that no other emergency services were required and the incident had been dealt with by 5.55pm.
