EVER wanted to visit a museum after hours?

Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum opened its doors for a special event in the evening on Friday (August 23).

Jurassic Jam! Museum After Hours invited people to visit their seasonal dinosaur exhibition after the museum would normally close.

Helen Large, museum audience manager, said: "It's an informal evening we hold a few times every year where people get to see the museum after hours.

"We want to open up the museum to a new audience and reach as many people as possible.

"When we hold these events, it becomes a celebration of the exhibition."

The exhibition has proved to be very popular with visitors, with the museum welcoming more than 10,000 visitors since the exhibition opened on Saturday, July 13.

With the event being aimed at an older audience, dinosaur-themed cocktails such as the 'Walk the Dinosaur' and 'Chaos Theory' were being served at the bar.

Visitors were encouraged to come dressed in their best pre-historic-themed costume, with the Flintstones, famous palaeontologists and a dinosaur all in attendance.

The museum will hold another 'After Hours' event on Friday, October 18 to celebrate Halloween.
