People can now join photography workshops on Diglis Island.
Canal & River Trust has launched new workshops for photographers of all levels to explore the wildlife and canal heritage of the island in the River Severn.
No previous photography experience is required for the sessions, which are led by professional photographer Paul Kilgallon.
He shares his expertise on optimising digital and film cameras, as well as camera phones.
The 2.5-hour sessions, costing £45 each, starts at Diglis Island's historic workshop.
Here, Mr Kilgallon covers essentials like focus, lighting, camera settings, and composition.
Participants then venture outside to explore parts of the island that are generally not accessible to the public.
Mr Kilgallon guides small groups on a photographic expedition, encouraging them to discover their own photogenic subjects.
The session concludes back at the workshop, where attendees share their photographs over coffee and cake.
They also receive a framed print of their favourite image as a souvenir.
Bookings are available at canalrivertrust.digitickets.co.uk.
Mark Miles said: "We want people to take a fresh look at Diglis Island.
"It’s been a feature on the city’s landscape since the mid-1800s and of course in recent years we’ve built our innovative Fish Pass.
"Our photography workshops offer a different perspective and give people a chance to visit parts of Diglis that are normally off limits.
"With more of us recording our lives on camera this is a great chance to improve your everyday photography with the help of a professional.
"Feedback so far has been very positive, so we look forward to welcoming more people to our workshops on this wonderful island."
The upcoming photography workshops are scheduled for:
- August 23 at 2pm - August 24 at 10am and 2pm - August 28 at 10am and 2pm
