READERS have given their suggestions on what shops should open at a new designer village that is set to rival Bicester Village in less than a year's time.
Cotswold Designer Outlet is opening in Tewkesbury just off the M5 with 75 per cent of the retail spaces having already been sold - but it's still a mystery as to what shops the village will have.
Worcester News readers have shared what they hope to see open at the designer village.
Most readers thought that a mixture of high end and well known brands along with a good supply of restaurants and coffee shops are needed to rival Bicester Village.
Wagamama, Costa, Turtle Bay, and Burger King were some of the most popular choices.
Haley Russel said: "Pull&Bear, Zara, Mango, Urban Outfitters, Lululemon, maybe some toy shops for kids like Disney, maybe some sort of big retail like John Lewis or Boots."
Pat Baker said: "Mixture of affordable, like Next, Marks and Spencer etc and more higher price outlet shops.
"There needs to be a good selection of different types of stores.
"I found Bicester too expensive as it has a lot of high end, and designer shops, but Clark village has a good balance.
"The outlet in Swindon has a good balance for everyone."
Nine months into the project and 90 per cent of the steel construction has been completed with plans for Cotswold Designer Outlet to open in Spring 2025.
Once completed, Cotswolds Designer Outlet is expected to create up to 500 new retail jobs across the 55+ individual stores and restaurants, as well as in the management and operations of the outlet centre itself.
Christine Grace, leasing director at Multi-Realm, said: “We’ve had a very positive response from retailers and F&B operators who want to be part of the opening line-up at one of the only new outlet destinations opening in the UK next year, and a chance to showcase their brands in this ‘gateway to the Cotswolds’.
"It is testament to the quality of the Cotswolds Designer Outlet design, location and the premium guest experience we’re creating, that we are already 75 per cent exchanged or in legals, this far ahead of opening.”
