A new dementia café is set to open in Droitwich.
Age UK Herefordshire and Worcestershire will open the doors to the Droitwich Dementia Café on September 3 at Droitwich Rugby Club.
From 10.30am to 12.30pm, attendees can enjoy free entry and a host of engaging activities, with a chance to socialise over tea and cake.
Better Together, a companionship and concierge service, is backing this community project.
Founder Alexandra Doyle said: "Better Together will always be appreciative of the chance to help such wonderful community initiatives.
"Sometimes it's as easy as getting together with like-minded people to give a little something back to those who are most in need."
This café is not only for those living with mild to moderate dementia but also for their friends, family, and carers.
The initiative aims to offer a relaxed escape for carers to share experiences and receive support.
Age UK Herefordshire and Worcestershire's dementia services manager, Kelly Reeves, said: "I’m very excited to announce the opening of a new dementia café in Droitwich.
"Our dementia cafés across the county have become invaluable hubs of support, friendship, and fun, so it’s fantastic to be adding another one to make access easier for those living with dementia in the area.
"We are deeply grateful to Better Together for their incredible support in making this new venture possible."
The Droitwich Dementia Café will be held on the first Tuesday of every month from Tuesday, September 3, at the same time of 10.30am to 12.30pm each month.
The café will be located at Droitwich Rugby Club on Hanbury Road.
There's no need to pre-book to attend.
